This is Melvin the Martian.

He is made up of painted and layered soda can tabs with a border of beer bottle caps. It took me over a year and a half to collect all the materials needed. I then had to individually glue on (to a piece of backing board) each and every tab. 

Melvin is a personal creation that I have been doodling for years. This is, hopefully, the first of many installments with Melvin.
